Steven J. McDermott, Au.D., ABA,F-AAA/CCC-A
Dr. Joe McDermott joined Colorado West Otolaryngologists,
P.C. in 2002 while completing his final clinical rotation for his graduate
degree. He completed his Bachelors and Masters degree at the University
of Wyoming and received his Doctorate of Audiology degree through Pennsylvania
College of Optometry, School of Audiology in September of 2004. Currently
he serves as the director of audiology for Colorado West Otolaryngologists,
P.C.. Dr. McDermott holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology
(CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is a
Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA), Academy of Dispensing
Audiologists (ADA) and the Colorado Academy of Audiology (CAA). He is state
and nationally certified to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids
in the state of Colorado.
Dr. McDermott provides expertise in the areas of pediatric, infant, and
adult behavioral and electro-acoustic diagnostic testing including Auditory
Brainstem Response (ABR) testing, Electroneuronography (Enog), Otoacoustic
Emission (OAE) and Videonystagmography (ENG/VNG). He provides in-depth
evaluations for diagnosing and treating hearing loss as well as balance
disorders. Dr. McDermott counsels and fits hearing aids and amplification
devices, including assistive listening devices for all ages. In addition,
new assessments and fittings for implantable nontraditional amplification
have been added to our services. Dr. McDermott also counsels patients regarding
hearing conservation through the use of hearing protection devices.
